Ante & post-natal Pilates classes at your home
As I travel to you, I can fit around your feeding and nap schedule or childcare and take the pressure out of you having to get to a studio to train. These sessions are tailored to your specific needs and demands.
In addition to my numerous qualifications and professional experience in ante-natal and post-natal Pilates, I recently went through the experience myself and can vouch personally for the indispensable role it played in helping me:
stay strong through my pregnancy,
alleviate any aches and pains and
prepared my body for labour
It was also critical post-natally for me. It was essential in:
restoring my core strength,
pelvic floor rehab and
reconnecting with my body post labour when you feel very weak and stretchy!
I was so fortunate that my birth went exactly to plan. I had the water birth I always wanted with no complications and a very quick recovery. I was walking 1-2 hours every day just before and was back walking minimum an hour a day the day after I came back from hospital! I have Pilates and meditation (including hypnobirthing) to thank and a lot of luck!
I would love to help you get ready for your dream birth, although as I’m sure you know, nothing is guaranteed and you have to be prepared for things not to go to plan, but it’s worth staying positive as much as you can in the lead up.
Benefits of pilates During Pregnancy
Pregnancy Pilates sessions will educate and prepare your body for labour and beyond, helping you adapt to postural changes. They will focus on any specific goals or issues you may have during pregnancy including strengthening key muscles needed for pregnancy, birth and looking after your baby following the birth. The sessions can help to release tension (including alleviating any back pain you may experience), relaxing and strengthening your pelvic floor muscles, teach you breathing techniques and set you in good stead for getting back into shape following the birth.
after Pregnancy
Post natal Pilates is not only beneficial for your body but also for your mental wellbeing as it gives you time for yourself. Pilates can help you get back into shape and help to alleviate back pain, pelvic dysfunctions and any other issues you may have (provided you have been given clearance by your doctor to exercise).
Please email me to find out at what stage you are able to starting taking Pilates classes during pregnancy or in the post natal period. Please note that before starting classes with me you will need medical clearance from your doctor.
